The Arc of Cape Cod Vision Statement

The Arc of Cape Cod believes that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have strengths, abilities and inherent value; are equal before the law; and must be treated with dignity and respect. The Arc represents supports and acts on behalf of individuals and their families. The Arc believes in self-determination by empowering people with the supports and knowledge needed to make informed decisions and choices.

The Arc of Cape Cod will:

• Increase collaboration with other agencies in order to maintain our flexibility and influence in the community
• Influence the awareness and attitudes of the community about the people with disabilities and our organization
• Provide effective advocacy to meet the changing needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families in the community

The Arc of Cape Cod works toward and believes in the community imperative: that all people have the fundamental moral, civil and constitutional rights to live, learn, work, play and worship in safe and healthy communities of their choosing.

The Arc values diversity in its leadership and membership. The Arc actively pursues and welcomes diverse groups (including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender and level of disability).

It is our vision to be the best at supporting people with disabilities and their families in their everyday quest for the freedom to make choices about their lives and the services they receive.  The future we envision is one where all people with disabilities are fully included as members of a community that embraces the diversity of all people, and values individuals for who they are in a safe and caring environment.
